My Teaching Philosophy

Here is my teaching philosophy, which explains my beliefs about teaching, learning, and the kind of classroom I want to create for my future students.

Every child deserves to feel safe and capable

My personal philosophy of education is that every child deserves to feel safe and capable of success. I believe teaching is not just about delivering lessons or covering content, but about creating meaningful learning experiences where students are participants in their own growth. A strong classroom is one where students feel comfortable taking risks, asking questions, and learning in ways that they can best understand. My belief is that learning should be engaging and responsive to each student’s needs.

Active involvement for deeper understanding

My philosophy connects closely to constructivist learning theory, which is the idea that students learn best when they are actively involved in their learning instead of just being told information. I believe students understand things more deeply when they can connect what they are learning to real life experiences.

Understanding the need for support

My understanding of teaching is very personal to me. I was a student who received special education services, so I know what it feels like to need extra support and patience. This personal experience deeply influences my approach, fostering an environment where every student feels seen, understood, and supported in their learning journey.

"Great teachers engineer learning experiences that put students in the driver's seat and then get out of the way."
